You don't have to carry it alone
Whether you're living with the aftermath of trauma, struggling with anxiety or low mood, or simply feeling stuck — counselling offers a space to slow down, make sense of things, and start to feel more like yourself again.
Book a free callWhat is counselling?
Counselling is a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can talk about whatever is weighing on you — without having to manage how the other person feels about it. I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma and PTSD, anxiety and panic, depression and low mood, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions and burnout. You don't need a diagnosis or a clear reason to come. Sometimes just feeling like something isn't right is enough.
My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, which means I draw on different therapeutic models depending on what feels most useful for you. I work relationally — the connection between us matters as much as any technique.
You
are the expert on your own life. My job is to help you hear yourself more clearly.
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy developed specifically to help people recover from trauma and distressing life experiences.
When something traumatic happens, the memory can get 'stuck' in the brain in a way that keeps it feeling raw and present — even years later. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements) to help the brain process these stuck memories, so they lose their emotional charge and become something that happened, rather than something that's still happening.
EMDR is recommended by NICE for PTSD and has strong evidence for trauma, anxiety, phobias, and more. It doesn't require you to talk in detail about what happened — which many people find a relief.
Assessment
We take time to understand your history and what you'd like to work on, and make sure EMDR is right for you.
Preparation
We build your resources and coping tools before touching any difficult material — you'll never be thrown in at the deep end.
Processing
Using bilateral stimulation, we work through the target memories at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Integration
We close each session carefully and check in on how things are settling between sessions.
Practical things
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes. EMDR sessions can sometimes run to 90 minutes — we'll discuss this if it's relevant for you.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies a lot depending on what you're bringing. Some people find short-term work (6–12 sessions) helpful; others prefer longer-term support. We'll review regularly.
Do you work online?
Yes — I offer sessions online via a secure video platform, which means I can work with people across the UK.
How much does it cost?
Please get in touch for current fees. I hold a small number of reduced-fee spaces for those on lower incomes.
